What is Teen Mercy? Who are we?
Teen Mercy is a youth ministry, a spirituality and way of life for teens to live the Catholic Faith as Young Missionaries of Divine Mercy. Through an act of total consecration, teens give their hearts and lives to Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary; thus becoming missionaries of God’s love and mercy.
Teen Mercy offers a way of life for all teenagers to love the way Jesus loves by ministering to the poor and people in need through works of mercy.
Teen Mercy, a Catholic mission and ministry for all youth: We, the Catholic Faithful, in union with our Holy Father, the Pope, are called through baptism to share in the mission, which Jesus Christ has entrusted to the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. Priests, deacons, religious and laity, under the leadership of our Bishop, cooperate to proclaim the Gospel in accordance with the teaching of the Church, to celebrate the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, for the salvation of all, and to exercise the ministry of charity so as to promote a culture of love, mercy, and life.
What do we do?
Teen Mercy offers the experience of Christ to our youth by coming together at their parish for Sunday Mass, teen prayer groups and youth nights. Teens come to know and love God through the catechesis of the Catholic Church, by celebrating the sacraments and by exercising the Ministry of charity. Teens develop strong friendships that are centered on Christ and His love for us by joining in fun activities, youth retreats, and mission trips to help the poor.
Works of mercy:
Our teens carry out God’s love and mercy, by actively ministering to people in need. Teens respond to the needs of their parish and their community by loving the way Jesus loves through works of mercy. Teens reach out to people in need through a wide range of different outreach projects, including ministering to the sick, the terminally ill, visiting the lonely, and by providing aid to the poor and those in need.
To Evangelize:
Our teens reach out with God’s love to minister and evangelize to new teens; teens that are un-churched and feel unloved, unwanted, or forgotten, teens that are seeking God, and calling upon His Divine Mercy in hope of a better life.
Divine Mercy:
Teen Mercy is about helping our youth to truly know God personally within their hearts, and to know of His great love for them; beginning with His Divine Mercy which is firmly rooted in the Gospel message of our Merciful Savior. Teen Mercy is about Divine Mercy, the power of God’s Divine Love working in and through the hearts of His youth, to bring about conversion and salvation in their lives, the lives of the poor; and of the whole world.
